MetaConference 2006

Metaformers held their 2nd Annual MetaConference in Key West, Florida in July 2006. Metaformers consultants (and their families) from our Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, CA offices packed up and headed to the Keys for a four-day offsite conference at the southernmost tip of the United States.

The team stayed in Old Town, Key West. We spent mornings discussing the current state of our company, as well as the challenges and opportunities for the coming year. However, it wasn't all work, no play. A breakout session to assess individual strengths was interrupted by the delivery of refreshing fruit smoothies - a well-deserved treat. We then reassembled and participated in a group "origami" exercise.

Afternoons were purposefully left open, to help foster a sense of team outside the workplace. Team members shopped, snorkeled, rode wave runners and napped to their hearts' content. The weather helped - a typical tropical pattern of short, intense showers, followed by long periods of beautiful sunshine and gentle, Caribbean breezes.
