Metaformers Donates Laptops to Black Males Working Academy

Metaformers Inc., an enterprise solution architect firm specializing in PeopleSoft solutions, today announced the contiunation of its commitment to bring technology to the young men participating in the Black Males Working Academy. Today at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Bracktown, Charles Thomas, Metaformers's Business Development Manager for the East, presented the Black Males Working (B.M.W.) Academy with 5 laptops to be used for education at the Academy.
"Metaformers believes in the importance of technology to provide opportunities for the advancement of young people," said Thomas. "As a company specializing in technology we are proud to offer these laptops to the young men of the B.M.W. Academy."
Metaformers began working with the Black Males Working Academy in 2008 with the donation of its first laptop. At that time Metaformers was approached by and happy to help Roszalyn Akins who created the program in 2006 to improve the life of African American males. The program is a collaborative program of First Baptist Church Bracktown and the Fayette County middle and high schools. Currently, there are 135 young males enrolled in the Academy. Graduates of the Academy are eligible to receive full scholarships to Georgetown College, Murray State University, and the University of Kentucky.
On December 4th, 2010, Thomas will speak to the young men in the Academy about the importance of technology at the Black Males Working Career Fair at the First Baptist Church Bracktown.
